Independent researcher and engineering content creator Sebastian W. featured the E-REON PowerBlast 30 in a technical video examining its RF design.

The PowerBlast 30 is a compact solid-state power amplifier delivering 30 W across the 2.4 to 2.5 GHz band.

Design details highlighted

The video examines several aspects of the amplifier design:

  • an LDMOS RF power stage
  • impedance transformation from the device impedances to a 50-ohm system
  • a fifth-order stepped-impedance output filter for harmonic suppression
  • second-harmonic suppression exceeding 70 dB below the carrier
  • input VSWR below 2:1 across the operating band

The operating range covers the 2.4 GHz ISM band used by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other communications and laboratory applications.

We thank Sebastian for the thoughtful presentation and for sharing his enthusiasm for high-frequency design.
